I’m going to break it down for all time I ain’t no deer in the headlights So transcendental and we still shine Its all or nothing when you realize I’m going to crank it up for my time There ain’t no givin’ up on what’s mine Cross-continental and we stone jive Its all or nothing but we’re alive And I feel it comin’, feel it comin’, feel it comin’ on Yeah, I feel it comin’, feel it comin’, feel it comin’ on I feel it comin’, feel it comin’, feel it comin’ on… I’m going to play it out a long time I ain’t no raindrop in the streetlights A touch sentimental but I’ll be fine I’m all or nothing by design And I feel it comin’, feel it comin’, feel it comin’ on… No incidental, instrumental pie in the sky There’s lucky stars in cookie jars so eat ‘em and smile Go pile ‘em up and rile ‘em up til the morning light And I feel it comin’, feel it comin’, feel it comin’ on… I’m sticking to wide eyes Stick it to your white lies I’m sticking to bright eyes…

So, you want a song She’ll give you a song You’ve held out so long You wanna sing along She’ll play it hard and fast Give you all that sass Bubblegum n’ pizzazz And make the candy last It’s coming soon to a theatre near you She’s coming soon, and she knows just what to do… Hit me with that hook, girl Beat it to death Beat it to death Hook me with that hit, girl Beat it to death Beat it to death So, you want a sign, She’ll give you a sign She’ll make the rhythm rhyme You’ll hum n’ pop n’ shine It’s coming soon to a stereo near you She’s coming soon, and you know her aim is true… Hit me with that hook, girl… Beat it to death Hit me with that hook, girl… Hit me with that hook, girl… Baby, please don’t bore us Beat it to death Beat it to death Get to the fucking… chorus! Beat it to death Beat it to death Repeat it to death Beat it to death

Rain is pouring down into the drainpipe They smirk and jerk and lurk around down there As if they really matter Some bloated Mad Hatter At the end of the day… You see it Did you dream it? Like a thousand creepy spiders in your bed You feel it When they steal it If you only had eight eyes in the back of your head Snow is coming down upon the freeway They drink and shrink and slink around out there Pranks dark and evil Some sad, wounded ego At the end of the day… You see it… But it’s all in the Cosmos, my dear You’ll get what’s coming to you right here It’s all in your Cosmos, my dear And you can hide behind your song Deep down you knew it all along Ugly is as ugly does, my dear And like a two-faced jack-o’-lantern Empty and void but still smiling That shit-eating grin from ear to ear… Hope you see it And you dream it Like a thousand creepy spiders in your bed Hope you feel it When they steal it If you only had eight eyes in the back of your head (If you only had eight eyes in the back of your...) If you only had eight eyes in the back of your head In the back of your head

Halfway Home 03:46
Nothing that I can’t shake And nothing that you can’t move A One Eighty and a time machine A hard left and it doesn’t seem that long… Nothing that we can’t take Nothing but our own Truth Like driving 80 with the top rolled down The days that Echo that crystal sound and all… We’ve taken some long ways and wrong ways around Just to get back where we started And I Really Don’t Mind if the jokes are inside We’re halfway home Nothing we can’t create And nothing left to prove We saved it all for a Rainy Day A Second Chance to come out and play, it’s true… We’ve taken some long ways and wrong ways around Just to get back where we started And I Really Don’t Mind if the jokes are inside… The station wagon circles back To fold-up seats and old 8- tracks And hearing the blonde guy swing that axe… Nothing that they can say And nothing that they can do Will mean that much to us anyway Some things no one can take away… We’ve taken some long ways and wrong ways around Just to get back where we started And I Really Don’t Mind if the jokes are inside… We’ve taken some long ways and wrong ways around Just to get back where we started And I Really Don’t Mind if the jokes are inside We’re halfway home…
5.
The Fates have called your demons out Exposed, you’re feeling naked now The Thought Police are here to suss you out Or maybe they’re just here to mute the sound But maybe you still hear the running… Rain Here come the thunder Here come the wonder It’s running through your veins Here come the lightning And though it’s frightening You’re running through the rain For one more day Calling all your treasures out The beauty of what you’re about For what you’ll leave behind you can be proud There’s only this one moment, here and now So wash away the fear and let it… Rain… Rain Here come the thunder Here come the wonder It’s running through your veins Here come the lightning And though it’s frightening You’re running through the rain, but you’re okay For one more day We live to love and fight another day We live to love and fight another day But you’re okay But you’re okay…

You… always felt so strong before And true… you were the one knocking down the doors You… were the King of the Hill And true… it all seemed so easy until… Til it holds you down, without a sound, and what else can you do? It spins you round, you fall to ground, and break your vows to you You feel like a fool, underneath so much cool But you shut your mouth, and pound by pound, you beat yourself black and baby blue You… never felt the days of the weak And true… you never felt their sting on your cheek Til you… felt the fingers around your neck And true… you couldn’t breathe, well, what did you expect? Cause it holds you down, without a sound, and what else can you do? It spins you round, you fall to ground, and break your vows to you You look like a fool, with an Acme anvil too But you shut your mouth, and pound by pound, you beat yourself black and baby blue Cause there’s a price you pay for being so naïve And where’s the magic when there’s nothing up your sleeve? So, it holds you down, without a sound, and what else can you do? It spins you round, you fall to ground, and break your vows to you You laugh like a fool, in the deep end of the pool But you shut your mouth, and pound by pound, you beat yourself black and baby blue But it’s never too late to start again But it’s never too late to start again But it’s never too late to start again But it’s never too late to start again…

So, we return To the promised land With promises and fingers crossed in hand A year or two The kettle’s black Were fingers crossed in hand behind the back? And so, we turn The other cheek But no one ever can say that we were weak And so, we burn Until we’re fried And no one can ever say we never tried Thought we were in the clear Then it just disappeared Then it all went up in smoke Well, fuck us if we can’t take a joke And so, we break Like splintered wood So, what if our intentions were all good? Again, we’re lost Again, we ride We seek when all we want to do is hide Thought we were in the clear Then it just disappeared Then it all went up in smoke Well, fuck us if we can’t take a joke It feels like we’re always going, deeper into the never-knowing It feels like we’re always going, deeper into the never-knowing now…. and again… Thought we were in the clear… And then it all comes clear It all just disappears It all just goes back up in smoke So, fuck us if we can’t take a joke Fuck us if we can’t take a joke…

Crashin' 03:24
Crashin’ At the height of your fashion Under the weight of your passion You never looked so smashin’ With all the friends you’ve been trashin’ Maybe it’s time to cash in… All of your fool’s gold All of your fool’s gold You shone so bright Like a thief in the night With all of your fool’s gold Restless You were always such a hot mess Under the weight of your success At the height of your excess You really tripped the light relentless Maybe it’s time to confess… All of your fool’s gold… And you never knew you had it so good And I kinda knew you always would come crashin’… All of your fool’s gold… All of your fool’s gold (cause you were living for it) All of your fool’s gold (cause you were dying for it) And the party’s divine Until you hit that line With all of your fool’s gold Crashin’ Crashin’ Crashin’ Crashin’….

“Come inside and come inside to Rod’s ‘Tonight’s The Night’ Promises, promises she fused that ring on tight She crossed her heart and hoped to die, the honeymoon and stars And she couldn’t love him any more Morning coffee, warm and strong, wafting up the stairs Innocence, or in a sense, the game is Truth or Dare He crossed his heart and hoped to die, she thought she knew the score And she couldn’t love him any more Wake up from insomnia to Neil’s ‘Tonight’s The Night’ Promises, promises he bruised that ring on tight Morning coffee, cold and burnt, runs down icy stares Innocents, it makes no sense, the game is Truth or Dare She crossed his heart, he hoped to die and lost his private war When she couldn’t love him anymore She crossed his heart, he hoped to die and shot out all the lights Cause she didn’t love him anymore…

Sometimes nothing rhymes, feel the ticking, killing time You’re so confused Bloodshot, Baby Blue, overloaded, know it’s true You’re feeling used But I can’t tell you what songs to sing No, I can’t tell you what phones to ring No, I can’t tell you anything But I believe in you So take it in turns Reality burns This should come as no surprise You reap what you earn You live what you learn Make no compromise They’re twisted and bent They’re not innocent They will steal sparks from your eyes They’re beaten and spent ‘Cause theirs came and went Like broken butterflies… Set sail, bite your nails, thinking that the wind’ll fail On the edge of a knife Guess who, Baby Blue, you know what you’ve gotta do Hang on to your life But I can’t tell you what songs to sing No, I can’t tell you what storms to bring No, I can’t tell you anything But I believe in you So take it in turns… It’s black and white, so make it right, peel away the parasites They hold you down Tattoo, Baby Blue, you’ve got the shine all over you Time to take it to town Still I can’t tell you what songs to sing No, I can’t tell you what crowns to king But I can tell you one thing, baby I believe in you So make your own terms Futility burns This should come as no surprise You reap what you earn You live what you learn Make no compromise In the unknown You're never alone This should come as no surprise Go out on your own Goodbye to the clones And broken butterflies...

Number Nineteen dream My mind goes tumbling down The cool, cool echoes from the Heights Summer love and ravines Remembrances racing around The songs of lust and laughter of my life Cause it’s amazing how the years just fall away I may be crazy, but I’ve still got games to play Just different than before Cause this sure as hell ain’t Kansas anymore The uneasy dream Where you’ve got no control And the ones you love are fading out of sight Monsters and machines How it all gets real sometimes Like the snakes and zigzag ladders of my life And it’s amazing how the years just slip away I may be crazy, but I’ve still got blood to pay Just different than before Cause this sure as hell ain’t Kansas anymore Like mama said I’m still nineteen in my head Where the kids are always alright Melting ice cream Look up and laugh at the Sun So why not rage against the dying of the light? Cause it’s amazing how the years just fly away I may be crazy, but still this side of insane Still got some things to say But this sure as hell ain’t Kansas anyway Still want it all and more But this sure as hell ain’t Kansas anymore…
12.
I’m thinking about time all the time this time I’ve got no reasons to deny Stare at the wrinkles but the eyes still shine They mirror seasons left behind Cause, everybody’s told that they’re gonna Everyone gets old, they don’t wanna know, no… Everybody’s told they they’re gonna go Everyone gets old, they don’t wanna know But the hand they hold Don’t have to fold I’m thinking about youth all the time this time I’ve got no rewrites to change mine Bash at this old guitar and have a glass of wine A million new ones wait to fly Still, everybody’s told that they’re gonna Everyone gets old, they don’t wanna know, no… Everybody’s told, they don’t wanna know Everybody’s gold, they don’t even know That the hand they hold Don’t have to fold Don’t have to fold Don’t have to fold…

about

Star Collector's sixth album was produced by Vocalist/Guitarist/Songwriter Vic Wayne & engineered/mixed/mastered by Drummer/Vocalist Adrian Buckley. Centred around the mod-influenced rock the band is known for, there are also many tangents this time 'round, from The Bunnymen/Julian Cope to stompin' 70's rock to Nick Drake to psych-rock with introspective lyrical themes a la Weller/Townsend/McCulloch. Powerful, melodic performances by Guitarist/Vocalist/Songwriter Steve Monteith, Wayne, Buckley, Bassist/Vocalists Adam East & Tony Kerr are augmented by mighty special guests: Ian Person (The Soundtrack Of Our Lives), Kevin Kane (Grapes of Wrath, Northern Pikes), Paul Myers (The Paul & John), Derek MacDonald (Bad Beats), Kate O'Brien & Wayne Lundqvist-Ford (The Ice Cream Man).
